Three Seasons

Freya and her father are Piyans. Elliot's mom Laura, Freya's aunt, is also Piyan. She moved to Cloudville because of marriage, and had Elliot there.

Piyan is the name of a kind of spiritual animal which Piyans believe is their ancestor. A year in Piyan has three seasons. The new birth of the first Piyan marks the beginning of the year. It take them one season to grow big, one season to grow old. When all Piyans are dead, it's winter. Then it snows. It's the time for festivals. People get together. They sing and dance.
