Althea Mengxi Rao (饒 夢溪) is a Chinese media artist, writer and filmmaker. She works with moving image and still photography, and is also interested in interactive installation and performance. She has been working with contact improvisors since September 2014; during the collaboration, she became part of the dancing community as well.

Althea now lives and works in Philadelphia, USA. She is an MFA candidate at Temple University. Her film work has been screened in Germany and Spain, as well as local theatres. This year, she is selected as the feature artist of the biennial edition of CinéWomen, a special issue featuring independent filmmakers and videoartists.
